INSTRUCTION




01: RESEARCH

Personal Experience on ‘Burnout’

Saying no more and to be honest I’m going through ‘Burnout’ currently and in a stage of recovering. All begins when I didn’t understood the workload and structure as a design and university student. I get overwhelmed easily in a daily basis and adapting into university adding to it. I have trouble on spreading and managing my works to get equal times for each works but fail multiple times. Hence, me in a ‘Burnout’ stage currently mentally and physically exhausted. Although since the middle of last year I have been trying to seek professional help and share or be more transparent with my parents regarding my issue. I’ve been trying multiple way of medication and in a process on healing right now. I just hope I can get out of this situation as soon as possible so I can be more productive and alive as a student and person.

03: ANIMATICS

Here, everyone having their own part to plan the frames. Task are being spread such as below: 

(Frame 9)
My task was for doing frame 9, and here how's the idea went on:
9a, Showing 2 subjects one showing burnout and one depression. Creating a balls of burnout/ depression and sending them one to each. Indicate how they fed and absorb each other up.
9b, Circle of burnout syptomps circling the object. Indicate by the subject with their balls that indicate the accumulative of mental exhaustation symptoms that lead to burn out.
9c, The object who has depression indicated with being poured by rain. And the fire indicate burnout they can create in the situation given.
9d, The object who is depressed consulting with another object by sharing out their stress balls. Indicate or create an environment of therapy session.
9e, Indicate by a puzzle of depression that fits with other spectrum of mental health condition.
9f, The duality that people who depressed can be in any situation even when they looked happy okay from the outside.

04: ILLUSTRATION

Illustration Team contain 4 persons and they're the one ilustrate all the character's poses and elements needed. They took all the necessary items that was provided on our sketches. We earlier decided to have a person who lead/direction the process so everyone can have a similar drawings. 


After, the illustration team finished all the necessary graphics. The team then handed over the drawings to the members again to accordingly put the graphics into their own respective frames. This step is necessary to help Animation Team proceed with their own roles right away.




05: ANIMATION

Below are the final frames that has been put together by the members and will be animated by the respective Animation Team (consist of 4 members).

(Frame 9)
I did re adjust some elements on my part, ex. 9c I didn't proceed to use rain as depression symbolism but instead I use the blop color to indicate or recall them. I think this are more effective. Other than that I didn't change much, just re adjusting composition most of the time.

(Animation) 
I've got to animate Frame 7,9,13.  And this is the overview on how I animate those frames.

Frame 9: Starting from this frame there are 6 parts on it (a-f). 9a, by using Gaussian Blur and Simple Choker Effect I could achieve a liquid blop animation. I use a simple re-position and opacity control for the rest. 9b-c, I use the same technique as prev frame andplayed with the  scaling  for the flame animation. 9d, it's an exact repetition of frame 9a. 9e-f using position and opacity control.

Frame 7: Puppet tool used in frame 7b-7c. The rest of it just adjusting the normal position, anchor point, scaling, rotation and opacity.

Frame 13:: I re-use the star blinking composition to achieve the same look as frame 7 and flame from frame 9.

(Compile & Revision)
Then, I've got to compile all the frames for the final submission. I did some minor adjustments here such as making sure everyone using the same fonts, making sure the alignments right and so on.
