Exercise 3: Kinetic Typography

ART DIRECTION

Song: “The Kid Laroi, Justin Bieber -STAY”

Our group going into more simple motion design as it’s everyone first time operating on AE. However, for the fonts and color palette we’re still deciding on which to use so everyone can have similar style.

Font: Futura STD, FreightDiscComp (Adobe Font)

Breakdown per sentences: I use pre-compose a lot to organize my AE files. Despite that I just play with the keyframes while looking for some tutorials to experiment on my kinetic part.

GROUP

Compile, I’m the one who compiling for the Kinetic Typography. The file overview can be seen below:

1st Draft: Commented that some text not allign ideally and the gradient too distracting.


Final Draft: We totally erase any gradient background and did some minor adjustment.

Exercise 4: Pie/Line Graph

prompt: create pie/line graph referring to the task list in the google drive. I got the task to the ‘D’ part which is a line graph exercise. Information that has to be provided. Follow instruction from the slides.

PROCESS:
1.) Making the diagram. Fill the X & Y axis.
2.)Draw the line using pen tools. then animate to make them appear gradually using trim paths (0%-100%).

3.) Add dots, animate scale to make them appear bouncy.
4.) Use pre-compose to organize the timeline. and then duplicate and adjust timing for other points.

5.) Add the last information and fixing the composition.

Exercise 5: Vector Animation

prompt: practice vector/character animation. Must apply: (position, scale, or motion) Bounce effect, layer (motion blur), Keyframe (Easy Ease), Wiggle or Puppet tool,

PROCESS:

1) After opening the 'D' Animation section on ia, All the shapes seems being compose inside a layer. so I firstly sketch how the movement I want to have.

2) then separate and name the layers accordingly.

3) Importing file to Ae as composition to retain its layer.

4) Adding Bounce Effect, Easy Ease, and basic animation to Body layer.

5) Parenting Thumbs layer to bubble layer then adding similar animation as point no.4 to bubble layer. Readjusting the Anchor Point.

6) Add wiggle to Thumbs layer and motion blur for the rest of moving layers as well.
